Health Foundation
Fresh Beginnings...
With the transfer of ownership of
Mountainside Hospital from Atlantic Health to Merit Health Systems on
June 1, 2007, the Mountainside Hospital Foundation became an
independent, self-governing public charity.
The Foundation filed an amended and restated Certificate of
Incorporation with the State of New Jersey to set forth the Foundation’s
new purpose. This is required because as a charitable organization, the
Foundation could no longer support the hospital, a for-profit entity.
The document also officially adopted the Mountainside Health Foundation
as our new name.
